Okay. I know what you’re thinking. What am I doing back in your inbox? I knowwwwww. It’s been a while 😭. It’s like life sort of got back to being normal, schedules changed, life began to life, and then boom here we are. 7 months later. Did you think I wasn’t keeping track? 👀👀 I was.

It actually hurts to write 7 months because that means I didn’t check in on you for that long. It’s accountability season, so let me say I apologize. Maybe I should put this on a notes app to make it feel real. ( We will have to discuss how apologies via the notes app has become a whole thing another day 😂)

Nonetheless, you and I are back here today 🙂. It feels great doesn’t it? I definitely missed you 💚. How have you been? What have you been up to? What are you currently enjoying in life? Tell me something good and great that’s happened to you since we last were here. Seriously let me know. While you think on that, I’m going to make some more tea. In the meantime here are a few thing I’ve been on. ( In no particular order, but also in a particular order).

1. I’m throwing my first Afrobeats party! 😬💃🏾🕺🏾 - *Takes deep breath* I can’t believe I just wrote that. Have you ever thought about doing something for so long and then next thing you know, you’re doing it? That’s how I feel with this party. I’ve talked about throwing an Afrobeats party for a while now, so to be doing it feels surreal to be honest. If you’re looking for a good night of Afrobeats, food, and vibes pull up on me at NOLLYWOOD Y2K.

2. A moment of silence for the music I’ve been finding😌 - I can vividly remember the days when I would spend hours on hours discovering new music. This was truly my therapy on a day to day. ( Shout out to my health insurance now) I’ve recently got back into deep diving into music in the same way. You can peep the songs that have been the soundtrack to my life most recently in the latest playlist.

3. The Mountain Is You ⛰ - If there is ever a book I could recommend to you, it is this. I like to describe this book as Iyanla Vanzant screaming at you to get your life together and also giving you a gentle hug at the same time. Truly 10/10 and a great book to end the year with.

4. Cleo So’s album “Mother” - I’m debating if I should tell you how many times I’ve listened to this project. I meeeaaan this is a safe space right? This album has to be one of my favorite projects. 5. Terrace Martin’s new album “Drones” - Here is another album for you this week. Between Terrace and Cleo , these two projects are sitting at the top of my list for favorite drops.

6. JVCK JAMES’ Love In The Club - This can also be heard in the playlist, but the video deserves its own moment as well.

7. Jerk Chicken Pasta: I’m happy to say I have officially perfected this recipe and now you can too. I have found a whole new love for cooking and as it continues to grow, I will share the dishes I make. If you want to whip up something quick and still have your meal make sense, here is the recipe.

8. HBO Max - This isn’t a sponsored post, but the way I have been going hard for this streaming platform you would think I work there. HBO Max just has the best shows. From Love Life ( start with season 1) to my forever love Insecure, I have yet to watch something on there and be disappointed. Please watch Love Life if you haven’t already. As you catch up and watch Insecure, let me know your thoughts. I have many.

9. It’s podcast season - Finding a new podcast always feels good. I’ve been tapped into Unfiltered Gems for the last few weeks and it’s always a good listen. Peep the latest episode.

10. Affirmations - By now, you must know I love my affirmations. It’s often what gets me through the week. My current affirmation has been: My future self is already good. I hope you can believe in that too.
